We’re thrilled to welcome to River Town two acts who have carved the authentic sound of the deep South from either side of the Atlantic, and present them in a performance that is sure to transport you to shores of North Carolina.
Dubbed the ‘songwriter’s songwriter’, Jim Lauderdale has penned the lyrics and crafted the notes of many modern classics for artists including Elvis Costello, The Dixie Chicks and George Strait. His own brand of imaginative roots music, that crosses bluegrass, country and soul and spans a career of over thirty years, has paved the way for the modern Americana movement.
Sharing the stage with him in this country double bill are My Darling Clementine; the British homage to the classic country duets of the 60’s and 70’s with a sound that has been described by American Songwriter “as authentic as anything out of Nashville or Texas.” With success that has seen them jump to the top of American country album charts and a roster of superb stories and songs, it is easy to hear why they have become the UK’s strongest purveyors of traditional Americana.
This is a standing show.
