Beethoven Piano Trio Op.70 No.1 Ghost
Beethoven Piano Trio Op. 97 Archduke
The first of Beethoven’s Op. 70 piano trios earns its nickname from a spectral slow movement supposedly influenced by Macbeth. The Archduke Trio’s incontestable nobility meanwhile is directed towards pupil and friend Archduke Rudolf, youngest son of Emperor Leopold 11.
