BBC Music Day 2017

After the huge excitement and success of BBC Music Day last year, hosted at Colston Hall, we’re very pleased to announce that we’re once again collaborating to celebrate our mutual love of music on Thursday 15 June.

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of BBC Points West, singers from 60 choirs from all over the South West will to join together Bristol Plays Music’s choir in  residence Bristol Youth Choir to form a mass choir in the brand-new Southmead Hospital.

The choir will be joined by special guest artist YolanDa Brown – BBC Music Day ambassador and double MOBO winner, who you can catch performing live later this year at Colston Hall – and the UWE ReVoice Choir a community choir for people affected by aphasia.

Showcasing the theme of the power of music for good health and wellbeing and as a panacea for the soul, the musicians will perform a range of uplifting songs during the afternoon and evening, including broadcasts on BBC Radio and BBC Points West.

And, to give you a taste of the fun that can be had, here are a few of our favourite snaps from BBC Music Day 2016.
